In this article, we explain the different ways to copy files to your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO. You can find extended information about all methods in the 'Compatible Books' section of our Help Center.
To copy books, connect your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO to a PC or Mac using the USB cable provided in the box.
Once connected, you can copy books in 3 different ways: using File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac), using Calibre, or using Adobe Digital Editions.
File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac)
This is the traditional option and the easiest to use, since it involves connecting the DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO to your Windows or Mac computer and using File Explorer or Finder to copy files as if it were a USB drive.
Important: If your books were not obtained from official sources or are not compatible with Adobe DRM (e.g. unlicensed, modified, or unknown origin), do not place them in the "Digital Editions" folder as they will not work.
Instead, create a new folder (e.g. "Books") directly in the root directory of the DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO and copy your files there.
Calibre
Calibre is a fantastic app for digital reading enthusiasts. It lets you manage your entire library and is available for Windows, Mac, and even Android. You can find more info in this article.
Adobe Digital Editions
Adobe Digital Editions allows you to copy books you’ve bought or rented to your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO, provided they are compatible with Adobe DRM. More info available in this article.
Additional note
Some books downloaded from unofficial or modified sources may not be compatible with the reader if they are encrypted or poorly formatted. If a book doesn't open, try converting it with Calibre or check if it is properly coded in standard EPUB or PDF format.
