Adjustments during reading

To access general settings on your DICKENS LIGHT 2 PRO while in reading mode, tap the bottom of the touchscreen. The following controls will appear:

  • Left: Go back one page.
  • A-Z: Dictionary.
  • T2: Footnotes. Displays the footnotes of the current page. By tapping T2 , you enter this view mode and the icon appears at the top. Tap on the note number to access it. Tap Back to return to reading or tap T2 again to exit this mode.
  • Home: Returns to the Home menu.
  • Menu: Menu options, see next paragraph.
  • Back: Go back to the previous menu.
  • Light: Comfortable light control. See article Comfort Light
  • Right: Go forward one page.

Menu options are as follows: 

  • Add/Remove Bookmark: Adds a bookmark to the current page. If a bookmark already exists, this option removes it.
  • Bookmarks: Displays the book’s bookmarks, allowing direct access to the relevant page.
  • Table of Contents: Opens the book’s index, if available.
  • Add to Favorites: Adds the book to Favorites. It will appear highlighted with a star in the Library. If already a favorite, this option removes it.
  • Go to Page: Select the page number to jump to it using the onscreen keyboard.
  • Search: Not available for all file types. Searches for a word in the book. Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the word.
  • Font Size: Not available for all file types. Selects text size, 6 options from S to XXXL. 
  • Zoom Level: Available only for PDF files, allows selection of the document's zoom level.
  • Margin: Sets the reading margin.
  • Rotate Page: Rotates the screen left or right (horizontal), suitable for left- and right-handed users. The screen can also be rotated 180º.
  • Black/White Text: Inverts the colors (white text on black background) to reduce screen glare.
  • Auto Page Turn: Sets automatic page turning and allows defining the time interval: every 10, 20, 30 seconds, or 1 or 2 minutes.
  • Screen Refresh: Sets how often the screen refreshes with page changes, from every 1 to every 5 pages. 
  • About the Book: Displays information about the current book.
  • Exit: Exit settings.
