This watch is water-resistant and meets the IPX8 rating of IEC Standard 60529: a maximum depth of 1.5 meters for up to 35 minutes without movement. If any of these variables are changed (if there is movement of the watch underwater, high-impact water hits, currents…), the watch’s water protection capacity may be altered. For this reason, the watch is not suitable for activities such as diving or swimming. In other water sports, mainly surface sports like rowing or sailing, for example, it is possible to use the watch; however, it should be noted that in these situations, the depth, time, and mobility variables are likely to suffer some alteration, so it is not recommended to use the watch in these circumstances. The salinity of the water is another variable that could alter the watch's water protection capacity, so its use in saltwater is also not recommended.
Additionally, it should be noted that water resistance is not permanent; it decreases over time and with device usage, so damage caused by liquids is not covered under warranty.
Microphone and Speaker
The SPC SMARTEE DUO VIVO features a microphone and speaker. If water gets into their compartment, the audio quality will be reduced until the water drains out.
In these cases, the Water Drain function should be used, available in the shortcuts, which activates the speaker at a specific audio frequency to shake and remove the water droplets that may have adhered to the watch's speaker.
