The SPC SMART CLAN application has 5 menu options at the bottom, to access the different functions of the watch and the application.
Chat
This menu has three options:
1. Video call: By pressing this option, a video call is made to the watch.
The video call is made over data, with mobile network or Wi-Fi if configured.
On the watch, only the image of the remote is seen. In the app, both images of the remote watch and the own terminal are seen.
2. Chat with the watch: Allows to establish audio conversations, text, and emojis.
From the application, text messages and emojis can be sent using a keyboard, and voice by holding down the bottom button:
3. Family Chat: It's a group chat, of the Senior with all the other family members/caregivers.
Notifications appear for own chats, not those made by the child/senior with other members of the family group.
In the upper right corner appears the icon to access the Notifications screen. This screen can also be reached from the bottom menu.
NOTE: The maximum number of text chat characters is 30.
Notifications
At the top right of the Chat screen, there is a button to access Notifications.
On this screen, notifications from the watch appear chronologically ordered.
Locate
This screen shows the watch's position on the map. This position is acquired according to the configured Positioning Mode.
The connection can be forced manually by requesting the positioning, pressing on “Current Position”:
The watch icon shows the connection status between the app and the watch.
If it is green as in the figure, it means it is connected at that moment. If not, it means there is no connection at that moment. It should be noted that the watch is not permanently connected, only when necessary.
If you cannot connect, first check that the terminal has a correct Internet connection. If so, the watch is not connected (out of coverage, for example).
On the left side of the screen, we have an icon showing the battery charge status of the watch:
In the upper right, we have the following buttons:
- Button to switch to satellite view:
Switches between map view and satellite image view.
- Button to consult the historical trajectory:
Accesses positioning data from today, yesterday, and the day before yesterday, selecting the buttons at the top.
At the bottom, there are controls to play the trajectory, changing the speed and stopping at any of its points.
On the right, buttons to zoom in and out of the map.
- Button for additional functions:
- Find watch: Opens the Maps application to find a route to the watch.
- Positioning mode instructions: displays a text explanation of how localization is performed.
- Positioning mode:
- Normal mode: every 9 minutes.
- Energy-saving mode: Every hour.
- Sleep mode: Manually obtains the positioning.
The localization times are approximate (in 9 minutes, for example, it can vary by a few minutes)
It is possible that the location position is not given for several reasons:
- Poor GPS coverage. For example, inside a vehicle or at high speed.
- The watch is stopped, without movement.
- The watch does not have a connection.
The watch will perform the positioning according to the configured frequency. The shorter the positioning time, the higher the energy consumption of the watch.
Due to energy-saving mode, the positioning log is limited. If improvement is needed, other positioning modes can be configured. (Reduces the update time)
During positioning, the watch chooses the most suitable positioning method according to the current environment, the user does not need to manually choose the positioning method.
Supports two types of satellite positioning: GPS and GLONASS, the best accuracy outdoors in an open area is about 10 meters, but indoor positioning is not good.
The watch collects Wi-Fi access points in its vicinity and calculates its own position through the Wi-Fi module, the positioning accuracy is 50 meters.
The watch obtains its position information through the mobile telecommunications operator's network (such as the GSM network), the positioning accuracy is generally within 500 meters.
A-GPS is a technology that combines network station information and GPS information to position mobile stations, this technology improves the performance of the positioning system, making it faster. The accuracy of this technology is about 10 meters.
Position is obtained as an auxiliary through the acceleration sensor to obtain the current movement status of the watch.
Phone
This screen directly accesses the phone dialer of the own terminal and allows making calls to the watch or to any other phone number.
This screen will be different depending on the phone dialer of the application's terminal.
Health:
Here appear the functions associated with the health of the watch user.
There are three parameters: Heart rate, Blood oxygen saturation, and Steps.
Heart rate:
The screen displays the last measurement made with its date and time, a classification, informative text, last seven measures, and a button to take the measure from the application.
Resting heart rate: people normally have between 60 and 100 beats per minute at rest
Heart rate during exercise: analyzes the state of body movement according to the heart rate range and chooses the most appropriate heart rate range to achieve a better effect
By pressing the top right button, you access the detail of the history of last measurements.
Blood oxygen saturation:
Blood oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxyhemoglobin volume bound to oxygen in the blood relative to the total hemoglobin volume that can combine. It is, therefore, the concentration of oxygen in the blood, which is an important physiological parameter of the respiratory cycle.
Normal arterial blood oxygen saturation is approximately 96 ~ 99%
The screen displays the last measurement made with its date and time, a classification, informative text, last seven measures, and a button to take the measure from the application.
By pressing the top right button, you access the detail of the history of last measurements:
Steps:
Displays the total number of steps taken daily, with screens to view weekly and monthly data.
In addition to steps, the energy expended in Kilocalories, the distance in meters traveled, and the minutes of activity are calculated and displayed. To be able to make the calculation, the values of Gender, Height, and Weight of the watch user, defined in the device profile, are used.
