The DISCOVERY PRO range devices include the NFC option to, for example, make payments with your credit card or withdraw money from the ATM, in addition to allowing connections with other devices wirelessly to exchange data.
Turn NFC on or off
You can activate and deactivate the NFC of your device whenever you want by displaying the notification centre.
Make payments with your device
This function has some particularities, and in the case of payments it is subject to the issuing bank of your credit card and the settings in its own application.
Below we explain how to use this option in different scenarios.
Use third party application
One option to use the contactless payment function is to download your bank's mobile application and give it permission to carry out these operations with your smartphone.
Once you have activated this permission, just by unlocking your device and bringing it close to the dataphone or ATM, the reading will be carried out and the operation will be executed.
It is important that, in the NFC settings of your smartphone, your bank's application to make the payment is configured as default.
To check it, go to Settings -> Connected devices -> Connection preferences -> NFC -> Contactless payments -> Default payment app and make sure your bank's app is the one selected.
Use Google app
It is also possible that you have downloaded the Google Wallet application to carry out this type of operations and you do not use the bank application or do not have the permissions activated in it to carry out the payments.
If so, it is important that you check that the default app to make payments is Google Pay.
In any case, the payment method will be exactly the same as the one we have previously described; once the credit card is configured in Wallet, just by unlocking your smartphone you can make the payment.
Combine both options
Lastly, you may have both options set on your device; both your bank application and the card configured in Wallet, and you want to use both.
In this case, go to Settings -> Connected devices -> Connection preferences -> NFC -> Contactless payments -> Default payment app and select the application you will use by default (Google Pay or the your bank's app; once selected, go back and in the option Use default payment app select the option "Unless there is another payment application open".
